using the stroller for golf? that is a good idea!
those fathers, though, forgot that the word “baby shower” must include the baby word… they threw it away and replaced with “dude shower”, which is basically every friday… :)

Pasta is cheap, goes a long way, and is filling- so you can add a little more of an expensive ingredient to make it impressive – something like shrimp scampi would be nice. Then all you need to serve with it is a beautiful tossed salad. Otherwise, chicken would be my next though – what about chicken piccata? I would serve that, again, with a salad, and then just some steamed asparagus or broccoli….very nice.
Silly 1 recommended oriental trading and they DO have a lot of fun stuff for pretty cheap – that's a great idea. Otherwise, I would keep it simple – if you all know the sex of the baby to a pink/silver or blue/silver theme. Otherwise, a light green or yellow with silver theme will work.
If you can, mix up a cd or music station with "baby" themed songs – that'd be nice, too!
Oh! And if you aren't already stocked with cloth napkins, candles, fancy glasses, and that sort of thing, you can actually find some pretty nice things at the dollar store (no one has to know but you!)

I can't give you instructions, but I did these for my cousin's baby shower (link below) and they were a hit!

It definitely is more fair to do a guy’s shower… why not with beer?

Do guy gifts… parenting books for guys, diapers, stuff like that.

Taget has a nice selection, actually. Their party section is looking REALLY NICE these days.

Just get your wife pregnant, and she has to let you throw a kegger in your house! Genius!

Well you could buy streamers that are red, white and pink and the same thing with balloons.
You could buy a few centerpeices that has strawberry shortcake on it. You can buy them at wal-mart or a party supply store.

You could make a strawberry cake with strawberry icing then have little strawberry shortcake decorations on it.
Or if you knew someone that could make a cake in the shape of a strawberry that would be neat!
They sell the strawberry shortcake cake pan at wal-mart for about 12 bucks.

I would suggest not throwing a kegger AROUND the expectant mom….
we kinda get upset when dads go out of their way to get sloshed when we can’t, lol.

Where I live we have pamper parties for guys, no need for the guy friends to have to pick out the right gift, they just bring a box of diapers, every baby needs those!

You can get tea cups at a dollar store (Dollar Tree is good) and fill them with white, blue and/or pink (whatever's appropriate) jelly bellies; tie cellophane around it and a ribbon at the top (for favors). Use teapots for flower vases, with fresh flowers … maybe a blue/pink runner on a white table cloth, with chunky candles on the runner with the teapots. If you go to a craft store, you might even find teapot confetti that you could sprinkle along the runner…

Pretty cupcakes on a cupcake tree would be nice; and you might find teacup toppers for it. I haven't tried this recipe, but heard it was really good! You could either make it for each guest, or put the dry ingredients into a large mug and attach the directions, as a favor…

5-MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 TB flour
4 TB sugar
2 TB unsweetened cocoa powder
1 egg
3 TB milk
3 TB oil
3 TB chocolate chips (optional)
small splash of vanilla extract
1 LARGE coffee mug (get at a dollar store)
….Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well. Add egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in milk & oil and mix well. Add chocolate chips & vanilla; mix again. Put your mug into the microwave and cook for 3 min (1000 watt). The cake will rise oer the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little – tip onto a plate, if desired. EAT! … This can serve 2, if you want to feel "virtuous"

There's the old standard game of putting about 20 items on a tray and letting the guests see the tray for about a minute. Then take it away, and they have to list the items they remember. You could do "tea" items on there, along with baby items ….. Or, have each guest bring a baby photo of themselves, and display them. People have to write down who they think each photo is. (that one is fun:)

First you'll want to choose a theme. Some great themes when you don't know the sex of the baby are…
Angel
Sweet Pea
Froggy
Little Lamb
Nursery Rhyme
Tea Party
Baby Pooh
Clothes Line

Next you need to send or give out your invitations. You'll need decorations, games, finger foods, and favors.
Check out this website, it will explain everything. http://www.baby-shower-ideas-galore.com.
Baby showers can be a lot of fun, but it's a lot of work too. Be prepared with your list and you should do alright.
Good luck.
